Just Hanging Out

There really isn't anything too awfully exciting to report here of late. I've been having my own Jane Austen movie festival. So far I have enjoyed Sense and Sensibility, Pride And Prejudice and Emma. The rest are on their way from the folks at Netflix. I confess to not having much interest in these films when they were released but I am making up for lost time!

Of course, rainy afternoons are made for reading. I am nearly finished with The Mysterious Benedict Society before I hand it off to Owen. Does anyone else enjoy reading kid lit too or am I strange?

Owen has been keeping himself busy with building. A new interest is submarines and pirates ..

Rainy Day Super Hero

rain raft

It is still raining.

What goes best with a rainy day? A bit of reading, and Owen has been entertaining himself with a few good stories.

The Transmogrification Of Roscoe Wizzle is a story about a ten year old boy who is slowly changing into a bug.

The Dragon Of Doom ( from the Moongobble and Me series) is about a boy named Edward who attempts to help a not very good magician.

Paws Off Cheddarface is another great installment from the Geronimo Stilton series about a funny mouse who runs a newspaper.

Never one to forget non-ficition, Owen devoured Astronomy - Out Of This World, the fourth in a series of great science books featuring cool characters, each with their own personality.

ready for take-off

Owen has been building many Lego creations. His starship, above.

This no doubt inspired the rainy day super hero, bed jumper, below.
